Ingredients

2 onions
¼ cup water
½ cup Yellowbird Habanero Sauce*
1 cup flour
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
2 tsp sweet paprika
3 tbsp oregano
2–4 cups safflower oil (for frying)

Preheat the oven at 390º F

Peel the onion and slice them about ¾ inch thick. Set aside.

Mix the water, Yellowbird Habanero Sauce, and ¼ cup flour in a bowl. Mix ¾ cup flour with the rest of the ingredients in another bowl.

Submerge the onion rings in the wet mixture and then in the dry mixture.

Bake them on a baking sheet with baking paper for 20 to 25 minutes.

Or if you prefer fried onion rings, add safflower oil to a deep frying pan until it’s one inch deep. Place over medium heat and allow to get hot. Place onion rings in oil for about 1 minute each. Remove and set on a cooling rack. Eat and be merry!
